Meredith McCoy has received a 2017 Ford Foundation Dissertation Fellowship. Her dissertation uses Critical Race Theory and oral history interviews to document the ways in which tribal governments, state education departments, and federal agencies are addressing recent shifts in federal education law. Through the Fellowship, she will receive financial support, mentorship, and an opportunity to attend the annual conference of Ford Fellows. Meredith will be a Ford Fellow from July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018, during which time she hopes to complete and defend her dissertation.
